.01 The First Step

The first step in your process is to read our Statement of Faith, Mission + Vision. If you agree and still wish to apply with GOI, contact us.

Send an email to [email protected] with:

Your name, age, marital status, home church (if you have one), and the city of your residence.

.02 The Process

Gospel Operation International has a comprehensive multi-step missionary assessment process to determine an applicant’s readiness for service on the mission field. After receiving an application, we will get back to the applicant with next steps.

Over the next few months, there will be an ongoing conversation that will take place that will include the applicant, the applicant’s home church, and GOI’s various offices. The process may include further applications, references and interviews.

Halfway through the process, if both GOI and the applicant have determined it is God’s will for the applicant to proceed further, there will be a conversation to discuss field arrangements, responsibilities and budget.

The last part of the process involves a final video interview with GOI’s selection committee, followed by a complete physical and psychological evaluation. Afterwards, GOI will make a final evaluation. If applicant is accepted, she or he will receive a letter formally accepting the applicant as a Missionary Appointee.

.03 Training + Fundraising

Missionary Appointees will attend GOI’s Missionary Orientation Training, which prepares a person for the rhythms, rigors and challenges of life on the mission field. In addition, Missionary Appointees will begin fundraising the budget amount agreed upon with GOI. All GOI Missionaries are expected to raise at least 80% of their annual budgets before deploying on the mission field.
